Duo Lumiere is a collaboration between violinist Ellie Marks and harpist Ellie Wood.
Both are currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music and have experience as soloists, orchestral players and session musicians. They frequently perform around Manchester and the wider North West area both as a duo, and as part of the Renié Trio with fellow RNCM cellist Rhianna Wade.
This partnership provides a blend of diverse sounds - from familiar classics and popular music, to classical and folk, as well as brand new arrangements. The Duo have performed in a range of settings: some highlights being a lunch time concert at Manchester Cathedral; playing at Bridgewater Hall for the BBC Philharmonic’s pre-concert series; and performing Saint-Saëns' Fantaisie for Violin and Harp at Manchester Harp Festival 2024.

Harp-E & Aurora ViolinEllie and Ellie also perform on their respective electric instruments. These are perfect for a larger, more dynamic venue. They are exploring the use of pedals and different soundscapes that these instruments provide. They have been coached by members of many prominent ensembles. These include; Elias Quartet, Lindsay String Quartet, Fitzwilliam Quartet, Škampa Quartet, Tallich Quartet, The Pleyel Ensemble, The Paddington Trio and Leonard Elschenbroich.
